 BIOGRAPHY
Laurent Baheux was born in Poitiers, France and is a contemporary photographer of nature. Through his love of editing in journalism he discovered his passion for photography. His skill and awareness of the world made him desirable to photography agencies, and in the beginning of his career he covered many international competitions. Africa, however, has always fascinated him. Since a visit to Tanzania in 2002, he began private work on wildlife. “He chose black and white, with its play on shadow, light and contrast, to immortalize rare and ephemeral scenes of nature, constantly trying to sublimate the animals, to capture the magnificence of their attitudes, the emotion of their look…” By doing this, Laurent wishes to depict the beauty of these magnificent animals that walk our earth.  He is very active in organizations that help and protect animals. He is the author of Land of lions, which some say is like “an ode to wild life”, as it is a moving body of work in black and white.
